Middle Super Output Areas
are a far broader geographical area, made up of a number of Lower Super Output Areas. They typically have 7,800 people and 2,000 households in them and they fit within Local Authority boundaries.
Electoral Divisions
The collected data is also analysed by Electoral Divisions, however the Super Output areas are a far more uniform size, allowing for more meaningful comparisons to take place.
