Sorry, these grants are no longer available.  We are aware that there may be a new round of grant funding coming soon. Welsh Government have not provided us with the final details of the new scheme yet. We will advise you here once more details are known.

 

This is to help businesses with their immediate cash flow and to help them survive the economic consequences of additional lockdown restrictions started in December 2020.

Scheme 1 - Restrictions Business Fund - Business Rates Grants

Grants between £3k to £5k are available if your business or organisation is:

  • Materially Impacted OR forced to close as a direct result of the additional lockdown restrictions that started in December providing that you are:
    • In a property that is liable to pay Business Rates.
    • A rateable value up to £500,000. 
    • A hospitality, tourism, leisure, retail businesses or organisation
    • A supply chain businesses TO forced to close hospitality, tourism and leisure and non-essential retail businesses.

To help you here are some examples of a hospitality businesses or organisation impacted by the additional restrictions.  Please note these are a guide.

  • Restaurants / Cafés / Pubs / Bars or wine bars /hotels / Cinemas / Bowling alleys / Bingo halls / non-essential retail / Hair Salons / Estate Agents / Community Centres / Guest Houses

Welsh Government have now announced an extension to this scheme.

We don't yet have the guidance for this but we can advise the following so far:-

  • For all businesses that we have paid for December/January we are now able to make one more payment for February/March. This will be automated during February and YOU DON'T need to apply again.
  • Welsh Government has extended the £5,000 grant scheme for businesses with a rateable value between £150,001 and £500,000. You can apply below.

If you haven't yet made any application for this grant but you think you may be eligible then you should apply below.

Please note that Caravan/Camping sites applying for help will need to demonstrate a 40% reduction in turnover.

 

How do I know if I should still complete a form or not? - We have set up the online form to tell you early on if we have already awarded you the grant. If it lets you complete the form and submit then that means we still need an application from you.

Scheme 2 - Restrictions Business Fund Discretionary Grant

A discretionary grant of £2,000 is available to assist any businesses that:

  • Has been forced to close following the lockdown that commenced in December.
  • Hasn't closed but has experienced at least a 40% reduction in turnover as a DIRECT result of the restrictions from December.
  • Where the total amount of Covid-19 support grants you have received (including any further award through this discretionary fund) doesn't exceed 80% of turnover for a typical year of trading.

Businesses can only apply for one discretionary fund grant under this new scheme. However, if you applied previously for the Discretionary Fund for the December 2020 / January 2021 period and got the grant, you can now apply again for a grant for the February/March period.

 

Please note that:

  • Businesses that are eligible for the Restrictions Business Fund - Business Rates Grant, are not eligible for this Discretionary grant.
  • Businesses eligible for the ERF Sector Specific Support Grant are not eligible for this discretionary grant.
  • You are not eligible for this grant if you are eligible for a 'top-up' payment via the extended Freelancer Fund.
  • You have not eligible for this grant if you were awarded a Welsh Government Children and Communities grant to cover operating losses between September 2020 and March 2021.

Please note to apply for this grant you will be required to upload evidence so it's best to have the following to hand:

  • Evidence of your business turnover
  • A recent genuine (pdf copy) bank statement for your business.
