Powys Together (Newtown)

The aim of this project is to raise the aspirations of young people in the Newtown Community.  To support long-term change to health and well-being, reduce disadvantage and improve opportunities.  Through the summer term into autumn, we will use the funds to put in place activities that will help increase knowledge and skills of young people from primary age year 6 upwards, linking education and work opportunities.

We will connect with local businesses and networking groups to help support young people in bringing innovative and creative business ideas to the table.  We will focus on health and well-being and how we can "build back better" from the experiences of Covid-19 listening and engaging with children from the local community. Footprints on the Farm

Fully Booked - please email if you would like to be added to our mailing list and cancellation list

Using Alpacas as well as other animals on the farm we can help facilitate improved mental and physical health, emotional well-being, resilience and development through Animal Assisted Activities.  We currently use Alpaca Agility and Alpaca Games to bring a sense of fun and play into our attachment work.

We have 87 acres of nature's playground including a woodland area where the children can explore and play. Children and young people learn and strengthen positive attachment to others through building and maintaining relationships with animals.  Caring for and being with animals supports self-soothing techniques, independent care skills, cognitive development, resilience and self-esteem.

Through using our beautiful landscape and our animal connections we can help reduce anxiety, low-mood, isolation and loneliness.  We aim to help young people explore and connect with the world around them so that they feel ready and able to learn and to grow and hopefully more ready and able to access their community.

Please contact us via our facebook page "Footprints on the Farm" where you can direct message us, (6) Footprints on the Farm | Facebook or email or call 07972 373759.

Details of our events will be posted on our Facebook Page and shared with local agencies.
