Business Rates: Retail, Leisure and Hospitality Rates Relief 2022 / 2023
Welsh Government is providing funding to support eligible businesses in Powys with a Retail, Leisure and Hospitality Rates Relief scheme for April 2022 to March 2023.
The scheme will offer eligible occupied businesses a discount of 50% on the business rates bill for a property. The scheme will apply to all eligible ratepayers with a relief cap for all your business properties up to a £110.000.
The business must be in the retail, leisure, hospitality or tourism sectors, for example shops, pubs and restaurants, gyms, performance venues and hotels
To qualify for the relief:
- the business property should be wholly or mainly used for the qualifying purposes
- your main trade should be to the public
- your property should be open and accessible to visiting members of the public
Full details of this scheme is available on the Welsh Government website : Non-Domestic Rates - Retail, Leisure and Hospitality Rates Relief in Wales - 2022-23 | Business Wales (gov.wales)
If you have more than one property for your business across Wales, then you are only able to apply for all your business properties up to £110,000 relief across them all.
An important change from previous years is that you must apply for this relief, it will not be automatically awarded to you.
The council tax/ business rates & awards service will only be taking calls between the hours of 9am till 1pm. We aim to have a full complement of staff during these hours to help improve call response times.
