Children's membership

Image of mother & child There's something for all ages at Powys Libraries!  - Don't let the fear of your children and babies damaging books stop you from joining the library! Board books are very sturdy and we do understand that there will be some wear and tear!

Babies and Toddlers

Your library has a range of books - in English and Welsh - that babies and toddlers will enjoy:

  • board books
  • picture books
  • pop up and lift the flap books
  • nursery rhyme books
  • alphabet and counting books
  • books on colour, shape and pattern
  • story books.

Some libraries have stories on tapes or CD, and DVDs to borrow.  There are also books about childcare and parenting skills available to borrow.

Activities for younger children

Many of our branches have regular rhyme and story times for babies and toddlers - check your local branch page and please come and join in!

Childrens library membership

Call into any library and we can join you or your child into the library straightaway. A parent or guardian needs to apply on behalf of anyone under the age of 14. We'll need to see some form of ID - eg bank card or drivers licence - but contact us if that's a problem for you. That's all there is to it! Why not sign up and get exploring?

Computer use for children under 16

Children under 16 can only use our public internet computers with their parents' consent. If you would like your child to use this service, you will need to sign a parental consent form in the library. Your child will be given an Internet Club card which they must show every time they use a computer, along with their library card.
