Volunteering at Powys Archives

We are looking for volunteers here at Powys Archives in Llandrindod Wells. We are situated just north of town on the Ddole Road Industrial Estate.


In return for volunteering, we can give you an insider's view of what a fascinating resource we have here. This would be perfect for anyone with an interest in local history.  If you have any queries regarding volunteering please contact us.


We currently have vacancies in our:

Local Studies section

We are looking for volunteers to help our visitors get more out of Powys Archives. This isn't a specialist role and would be great for someone who enjoys meeting new people and helping them problem solve. Read more

Gardening section

Here at Powys Archives we need a hand with our rockery. At the moment it's an uninspiring piece of clay. It faces south, gets all day sun and there is a small budget to turn this into a little garden. Read more...

Quarter Sessions section

We have records going as far back to 1690. These include a huge range of subjects: from court sessions, bridges, land enclosures to weights and measures; coroners; ale houses; roads; canals and railways. Read more...

We are looking for friendly people with a passion both for history and people to welcome visitors to the Archives and help settle them in. Read more...
