|20th February 2018|
Wales's Senior Infantry Regiment will be visiting Powys next month for their annual St David's Day Parade.
The Welsh Guards will be in Brecon on Thursday, March 1 as part of their annual parade.
A service will be held at Brecon Cathedral at 11:30am before the parade, led by the Band of the Welsh Guards, marches from the cathedral at 12:30pm to the town centre and halt outside the Wellington Hotel.
Outside the hotel, Cllr Dai Davies, Chairman of Powys County Council, will be joined by Lord Lieutenant of Powys, the Hon Mrs Shan Legge-Bourke, Major General Bathurst CBE and the High Sheriff of Powys, Mrs Susan Thompson in handing our leeks to the regiment.
The parade will then march off to Theatr Brycheiniog for a reception.
"The Welsh Guards have a proud history and we are delighted that they are coming to Powys for their annual St David's Day Parade," said Cllr Davies.
"Powys has a long association with the armed forces, particularly the army, so it will be a privilege to see our servicemen and women parade in Powys."
