Animated Film

12th March 2018 |
Just months after moving to Ystradgynlais, Syrian refugees have joined forces with a local school to produce two animated films about their experiences.
The families have been working with Ysgol Maesydderwen, Ysgol Y Glowyr, the Miner's Welfare Hall and award winning animation company Winding Snake Productions to produce two films which will be screened for the first time on Thursday (March 15). The Josef Herman Art Foundation is also a partner in this project.
Funded by Ffilm Cymru Wales, the specially made animated films share stories about how the families have been made welcome in Ystradgynlais and how the town has provided them with a place of sanctuary.
More than six families have settled into the town in the Swansea Valley in the past 18 months and this is the second cultural event to be hosted by them in the Welfare Hall.
The screening which is open to all starts at 6pm. For more information visit www.thewelfare.co.uk
