10th May 2018

Powys logoActivities for all ages will be on offer at the 2018 RWAS Spring Festival with a presence from Powys County Council.

Speaking ahead of the festival Cllr Rosemarie Harris, Leader of the council, said: "We are pleased to be attending this year's Spring Festival. We have lots of activities planned and extend a very warm welcome to all those attending."

Free demonstrations will take place across the two-day event by the Arwain funded 'Seed to Saucepan' project. Including recipe tips for your summer picnics and gardening advice about growing your own.

Tourist information will be available including details of forthcoming local events, great days out, and walking routes in Powys.

For children and youngsters, there will be a chill-out area with supervised arts and crafts from the Family Information Service. Parents will also be encouraged to share their top parenting tips. You can also pop in for a coffee and informal chat about opportunities to become a foster carer.

Continuing the council's relationship with the armed forces, the Army will also be joining with fun activities and a joint promotion of the upcoming community day in Brecon.

As well as a competition to win Urdd Eisteddfod concert and day tickets, a walking themed goodie bag with local maps and walking guides, and a foraging day trip.

The RWAS Spring Festival takes place Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 May at the showground in Llanelwedd. Powys County Council is located on Avenue E (next to the Green Pavilion).
