Adult Services Improvements
Powys County Council is committed to improving the lives of people with a disability, a mental health related illness, and older people to live well, and age well in Powys. Safeguarding is, and always will be, our highest priority.
Adult Services Report
An Adult Services inspection report from Care Inspectorate Wales will help drive a three-year improvement programme in Powys.
An Adult Services inspection report carried out by the Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) has been accepted and welcomed by Powys County Council. The report highlights a number of improvements, and work is already underway to address these through our Adult Services Improvement Plan which can be viewed on this page.
In readiness for the inspection, Adult Services implemented the Improvement Plan after carrying out a comprehensive and detailed self-assessment of the service prior to the inspection. The plan will continue to be developed based on feedback from staff, adults who require care and support and carers, external review, audit and challenge, and the CIW inspection report.
Delivering the changes highlighted within the plan will mean we can provide the people of Powys with realistic reassurance that adults are being safeguarded effectively.
It will ensure that adult services is fulfilling all of its statutory responsibilities to the highest possible standard.
This Plan sits within a wider strategic framework of the Wellbeing Plan and the Health and Care Strategy Area Plan, and seeks to draw a golden thread across all key planning arrangements including the:
- Council's Corporate Improvement Plan (aligned to the Vision 2025) and
- Powys Teaching Health Boards' Integrated Medium-Term Plan (IMTP).
