Recycling roadshows organised for Recycle Week 2018
|17th September 2018|
Waste awareness officers from Powys County Council will be holding roadshows later this month providing information on how people can recycle more.
The officers will be visiting supermarkets and a Powys library during Recycle Week 2018, which starts on Monday, September 24.
Now in its 15th year, Recycle Week is a celebration of recycling. The aim of the week is to encourage everyone to recycle more and also demonstrates the benefits of recycling items from all around the home.
Waste awareness officers will be at the following locations during Recycle Week:
- Monday, September 24 - Tesco, Welshpool
- Tuesday, September 25 - Tesco, Newtown
- Wednesday, September 26 - Brecon Library
- Thursday, September 27 - Tesco stores in Llandrindod Wells and Ystradgynlais
Cllr Phyl Davies, Cabinet Member for Waste and Recycling, said: "We are proud of our recycling record and the efforts of our residents in recycling as much as they can.
"However, we know that we can do better and Recycle Weeks gives an opportunity to show how many materials can be recycled instead of going into landfill."
"I would urge residents to pop along to one of our roadshows and speak to our waste awareness officers face-to-face and get handy tips and advice on how to boost their recycling efforts
