Over 60 young people came together to learn about and share their views on issues such as healthy eating, reducing litter in our environment and how to stay safe at home, at school and in the community.

Lola a pupil from Ysgol Golwg Y Cwm said: "It's been fun, I really enjoyed the workshop about Education and have learnt a lot. I felt they listened to me and I will go back to school and tell my class about it."

Powys County Council's Cabinet member for Young People & Culture, Cllr Rachel Powell said: "This event is part of our commitment to involve children and young people in services that affect them. Back in the summer we signed the National Participation Charter as part of our determination to adopt a children's rights based approach across all of our work.

"It was a pleasure to meet with young people at the event. We need to be creative on how we involve young people and value their views to help us shape future services."

The Have Your Say Day event was run on behalf of the Powys Regional Partnership Board and the Powys Public Service Board, with support from schools and practitioners from across the council, the health board, PAVO, and substance misuse support service CAIS.

A report detailing the young people's feedback from both the South and North Powys events will be published later this year.
