Llanfyllin C.P. School and Llanfyllin High School

Following a request from the governing bodies of the two schools, the Council recently carried out the statutory process to merge Llanfyllin C.P. School and Llanfyllin High School, to create a new all-through school in the town.

A Statutory Notice in respect of this Proposal was published on the 20th March 2019, and the Objection Period ended on the 17th April 2019.

The Council has prepared an Objection Report outlining the Objections received during the Objection Period. The Objection Report is available below:

The Council's Cabinet considered the Objection Report at a meeting held on the 30th April 2019. Having noted the content of the Objection Report, the Cabinet agreed to proceed with the proposal to establish an all-through school in Llanfyllin from the 1st September 2020. A decision letter outlining the Cabinet's decision is available below:

The Council will now work with the two schools in order to support the transition to the new all-through school.
