Housing plans on show in Brecon
|23rd October 2018|
Residents living in Brecon will have an opportunity to see and discuss plans for a proposed housing development in the town.
Powys County Council's Housing Service will be at the Castle Hotel in Brecon on Thursday, October 25 to show their plans for the 32-house scheme, which is planned on a site north of Heol Y Ffynnon. The drop-in event will take place from 12-7pm.
A pre-planning consultation has now started for the proposed development, which will run for 28 days to allow interest parties to comment on plans before a planning application is submitted.
If planning permission is granted, the new homes will be managed by the council and allocated to tenants on the Common Housing Register.
Cllr James Evans, Cabinet Member for Housing, said: "We want to produce good quality, sustainable and affordable homes that meet the needs of local communities across Powys and we have made a commitment to developing 250 additional homes over the next five years
"This piece of land has been in the council's ownership for some time and now we intent to build 32 affordable homes at this site.
"This drop-in event will be important as it will allow us to gather the views from residents before we submitted a planning application to the Brecon Beacons National Park Authority for their consideration."
The pre-planning consultation will close on Monday, November 19. To view the pre-planning documents online visit www.asbriplanning.co.uk/statutory-pre-application-consultation/ which also gives details on how you can make representations on the proposed plans.
