Residents in the Machynlleth area are being invited to meet the team delivering the town's new £23m flagship all-through school.
Parents and members of the community are being given the chance to see designs and meet project staff from Powys County Council, Heart of Wales Property Services, contractors Dawnus and architects Archiytype at the school on November 15.
Pre-application plans for the new school, which is being developed by Powys County Council and the Welsh Government under the 21st Century School programme, was published by planning consultant Asbri Planning Ltd on October 22.
Under the plans it is proposed that the existing secondary school building will be demolished and the site redeveloped to provide new 620 place all-through school with early years' provision bringing together secondary and primary provision on the same campus with plans including car parking, 3G sports pitch and multi-use games area.
The new school, which is scheduled to open in 2020, is designed to be the county's first Passivhous accredited all-through school, with designs having high energy efficiency standards, significantly reducing energy for heating and cooling, cutting the school's CO2 emissions.
Lead contractor Dawnus, are a Welsh based company and have already delivered a number of school construction projects across the country and are currently working with the council on two new primary schools in Welshpool.
The drop-in sessions will be at Ysgol Bro Hyddgen's secondary campus on Thursday November 15 from 3.30 to 6.30.
