Children's Services Improvement Programme 2017-2020Image of four young children

We are working together to ensure that Powys children and young people are safe, healthy, resilient, learning and fulfilled. Their voices will be heard, valued and acted on.

The Programme makes clear how we can all help to improve services for children and families. It will build on the strengths of staff, get support from the whole council and work with partners and communities across the county.  It describes our ambitions and priorities for all children and young people in Powys, including doing all we can to protect and promote the rights of children set out in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).

In this way, we can:

  • support families to stay together
  • manage risk when children and young people have to be kept safe
  • provide children and young people who have to live away from home with good experiences of being cared for.
