The officers will be visiting supermarkets and a Powys library during Recycle Week 2019, which starts on Monday, September 23.

Recycle Week is a celebration of recycling and the aim of the week encourage everyone to recycle more and also demonstrates the benefits of recycling items from all around the home.

Waste awareness officers will be at the following locations during Recycle Week:

  • Tuesday, September 24 - Co-op-, Builth Wells
  • Wednesday, September 25 - Tesco, Llandrindod Wells
  • Friday, September 27 - Co-op, Llanidloes

A recycling roadshow will be held in Newtown Library after Recycle Week on Tuesday, October 1 between 10am-2pm.

Cllr Phyl Davies, Cabinet Member for Waste and Recycling, said: "We are proud of our recycling record and the efforts of our residents in recycling as much as they can.

"However, we know that we can do better and Recycle Weeks gives an opportunity to show how many materials can be recycled instead of going into landfill.

"I would urge residents to pop along to one of our roadshows and speak to our waste awareness officers face-to-face and get handy tips and advice on how to boost their recycling efforts."
