Contingency Arrangements for building Regulation site inspections

As a result of the Government's announcement of measures to minimise the spread of the COVID-19 Coronavirus, it has been necessary to review our current inspection arrangements for works under construction.

Please ensure that you notify us at commencement of any project and continue to notify us of each inspection stage by contacting your Building Control Surveyor as you normally would or by sending an email to

We have introduced a revised risk based approach to inspections, therefore you will be asked whether anyone at the site has been ill, advised to self-isolate or has recently returned from overseas travel to an affected area and whether there will be vulnerable people on the premises.

Please accept our apologies but at this time we need to consider the safety of our staff which is essential but, also the risk we can pose by unknowingly transmitting the virus from site to site.

As the situation is very fluid our protocol will be reviewed daily however, the above arrangements will remain in place until such time that the Government advises us that normal business arrangements can resume or if we are no longer able to continue to carry out our service.
