Llanfaes Camau Bach in Brecon is closed after three members of staff were told to self-isolate after a child tested positive. 14 other children are also self-isolating.

The setting will remain closed until Friday, September 25.

A focussed clean has taken place at the setting.

Powys County Council has worked with early-years settings in the county and procedures are in place in the event a child or member of staff tests positive for Covid-19. These procedures are in line with Welsh Government guidance and working closely with colleagues in health services.

Cllr Phyl Davies, Cabinet Member for Education, said: "Early years settings have put measures in place to minimise the risk of coronavirus spreading but it remains a real threat to public health.

"It is important that we all remain vigilant and maintain social distancing and continue to wash hands frequently to prevent the spared of the virus as much as we can.

"Do not send your child to school if they are unwell and have any of the three identified COVID-19 symptoms or they live in a household with someone who has symptoms or has tested positive in the past 14 days.

"We all have a part to play if we're to avoid a spike in the county and the potential re-introduction of lockdown measures."
