These planned flood alleviation works, which are being funded by the Welsh Government and delivered by Powys County Council, will reduce the flood threat to properties and flooding of the road at this location. The works will be undertaken by a local contractor.

To enable the existing culvert to be upgraded, the road will be closed for 12 days, from 8am on Monday 19 October until 6pm on Friday 30 October.

Road users are reminded to not ignore road closure notices and safety signs. Access for residents will be maintained via a signposted diversion.

"We appreciate the road closures can often be a real nuisance for our residents and road users" Explains Cllr Heulwen Hulme, Cabinet Member of Highways.

"But being able to carry out these important upgrades as part of our planned flood alleviation works will result in far less disruption on the roads in the long-term. To minimise disruption, we are taking the opportunity to utilise the extended half-term school holiday for the road closure.

"We would like to thank our residents for their understanding and cooperation whilst we are carrying out these works."
