A county councillor from south Powys is to join the Cabinet, the Leader of Powys County Council has announced.
Leader Cllr Rosemarie Harris has today (Friday, November 6) confirmed Cllr Iain McIntosh as the Cabinet Member for Housing, Planning and Economic Regeneration.
Cllr McIntosh, who represents the Yscir ward in south Powys, will replace Cllr James Evans who is stepping down from the Cabinet to take up a new, full-time job.
"I'm delighted that Cllr McIntosh has accepted my invitation to join the Cabinet and the position of Cabinet Member for Housing, Planning and Economic Regeneration," Cllr Harris said.
"Cllr McIntosh will bring valuable experience, plenty of energy and a new way of looking at issues that we face in the county and I look forward to working with him.
"Bringing Cllr McIntosh onto the Cabinet to replace Cllr Evans has also given me an opportunity to review cabinet portfolios and I will be announcing these changes soon."
