Silly Squad Summer Reading Challenge 2020

This summer we're going to get silly!

Due to Covid-19 the Summer Reading Challenge will be different this year and there are two ways for children to take part.Cartoon image of Lily the frog with joke book

  • If you are aged between 4 and 12 years old, you can register online at for the digital challenge. Read a minimum of 6 books, they can either be books you have at home or ebooks or eaudio books borrowed from Borrowbox ( On completing the challenge you can print off a certificate.
  • Or you can order books from our Order and Collect Service. Order your 6 books by visiting our Order and Collect Service webpage, and in your bag you will find everything you need to complete the challenge. Return your books with the completed registration card to receive your medal & certificate. (You can include ebooks and eaudiobooks if you finish the challenge this way too)


We know that reading for pleasure is important for children's development and taking part in the annual Summer Reading Challenge will keep them reading throughout the school summer holidays.
