Mount Street Infants School, Mount Street Junior School and Cradoc C.P. School
Following the decision by Powys County Council to merge Mount Street Infants School, Mount Street Junior School and Cradoc C.P. School, the Council is now moving forward with the plans to establish a new primary school effective September 2024.

Ysgol Golwg Pen y Fan will be the name of the new school which will open in Brecon in September 2024. The new school will be established following the merger of Mount Street Infants School, Mount Street Junior School, and Cradoc C.P. School as part of the Transforming Education plans by Powys County Council for the Brecon catchment area.
The new school will initially operate on the three existing sites, before eventually moving to a brand-new building in Brecon, which will provide 21st century facilities for pupils.
Mrs Sarah Court has been appointed Headteacher Designate and has already commenced in post assisting with the transition before starting as Headteacher in September.
Temporary Governing Body established:
A Temporary Governing Body, made up of current governors, has been established to oversee the transition to the new school.
