Target Audience: Providers / Carers

Aim:

To support staff that need to support personal care.

Course Content:

• Determine what the relevant Legislation and Best Practice Guidelines are and where to access them.
• Discuss the Chain of Infection and how infection can spread.
• Determine the importance of Standard Precautions including Hand Hygiene.
• Define the terms Infection, Colonisation and Carrier.
• List the precautions taken when dealing with - Laundry /Linen - Sharps Management - Cleaning & Waste.
• Discuss the importance of Personal plans and Risk Assessments.

Dates: 

• 23^rd April 2024, 1pm - 4pm
• 10^th July 2024, 9.30am - 12.30pm
• 20^th November, 9.30am - 12.30pm
• 15^th January , 1pm - 4pm

There is no charge to attend these courses, however a cancellation charge may apply to non-attendance if sufficient notice is not given
