Powys County Council is holding a recruitment event to boost the adult social care workforce ahead of winter pressures.

The council is looking for anyone interested in a job supporting people with their daily living needs. You could be starting out in your career, looking for a new job, or retired and wanting to get back into work.

A recruitment open day will take place on Wednesday 5 July, 2023 to recruit care and support workers and help reduce pressures on the health and care sector.

Sian Cox, Cabinet Member for a Caring Powys said: "You may think social care isn't for you, but if you enjoy connecting with people and want to support people to leave hospital as soon as they're well to a place of their choice - it might be!  I was a support worker for 30 years, it's often challenging; but it's also rewarding.

If you're thinking about starting a new career or coming back to work, full or part time, please do come and talk to us - and to our colleagues from Powys Teaching Health Board and the Health and Care Academy, who will be with us all day.

Adult Social Care is under immense, ongoing pressure. More and more people need help and support to live at home.  You will make a real difference to people's quality of life and play a real role in reducing the extraordinary pressures on social care in our county."

If you're interested in finding out more about how you can help, come along to the recruitment open day on Wednesday 5 July, 2023 at Hafan Yr Afon, Newtown, 10.00- 6.30pm.

We're offering a unique opportunity to apply and interview on the day. You could walk away with a conditional job offer.
