Introduction to the Supply Chain Portal

What the portal is

The online portal is designed to support social care providers in Powys with their sustainability and carbon reduction plans. Our aim is to create a supply chain with credible knowledge and skill regarding decarbonisation and climate change. This will increase competition and the response rate to social care tenders and therefore, improve the quality of service that is being delivered. The action plan generated by the questionnaire will improve the interaction between the supplier and service area as there will be greater understanding and improved delivery of the sustainability agenda.

How it will benefit the supplier

The project aims to create an online portal to allow social care suppliers to complete a sustainability and nature related questionnaire which will generate a personalised action plan.

We will take a friendly and solution-focused method of 'coming alongside' suppliers, rather than imposing requirements The portal seeks to enable local social care providers bridge their knowledge gap to upskill themselves to be able to meet the council's climate and nature emergency alongside supporting providers with carbon reduction planning. 

What they will need to do

As an organisation you will need to complete the supply chain questionnaire which will generate a targeted step-by-step suggestion plan of how to upskill and decarbonise your organisation. It is in the best interests of the organisation to be honest when completing the questionnaire in order to receive the best possible.

It will roughly take 30 minutes to complete the questionnaire.

The questionnaire can be saved at any stage, so information can be gathered to answer the questionnaire as accurate as possible.

Future work for Powys County Council

There is no connection between completing this tool and gaining further work with the council, it is only to be used to decarbonise your organisation which is seen by the council as a competitive advantage.

This portal has been designed to enable an organisation to upskill themselves in their own time to decarbonise their business to work with the council to ensure a Stronger, Fairer, Greener Powys
