Minister visits new children's home

Deputy Minister for Social Services Julie Morgan MS joined the team in Powys earlier this week to find out more about the new children's home due to open in the north of the county.

Powys County Council and Powys Teaching Health Board have joined together to create this additional support for local children and young people with complex emotional and behavioural difficulties.

The fully refurbished home funded by Welsh Government will have a dedicated team of therapeutic and care staff to support young people in the county.

The beautiful outdoor space will provide an opportunity for children and young people to care and handle small animals and to grow fruit, vegetables and flowers.

The home will provide stability to support children and young people with the most complex needs to achieve positive outcomes and improve their well-being. 

This new home allows us to support more children in their own communities, enabling children to stay closer to home.
