We have a statutory responsibility to name and number streets and houses within the County and to ensure that any new or amended street and property names and/or numbers are allocated logically and in a consistent manner.

Rename an Existing Property / Add name to a Numbered Property

The rules governing the naming of individual properties are strict; a unique name is essential to ensure that properties can be located quickly and easily.

Register for a new address two or less (domestic or commercial)

Where practical numbers will be allocated sequentially from the established street numbering. Where a number cannot be allocated then a name for the property is chosen by the developer/owner.

Register a new development

Due to the statutory legal process involved, the Street Naming and Numbering procedure can be lengthy; we therefore advise developers to apply as early in the process as possible to avoid delays.
