HIV Testing Week
We're out in the community!
Come and collect a free sexual health testing kit.
These are "test and post" kits, you take them home, complete the test in your own time, and post it back using the prepaid envelope.
It's simple, discreet, and supported.
Just like going to the dentist or optician, looking after your sexual health is part of staying well.
HIV Testing Week Success
Fast Track Powys recently delivered a five-day outreach programme across the county to mark HIV Testing Week, working in partnership with Fast Track Cymru, Powys Teaching Health Board, and PAVO. The initiative aimed to improve access to HIV prevention, testing and support, while helping to tackle stigma and raise awareness.
Key highlights:
- 235 community engagements across five locations
- 23 HIV test kits distributed (including kits left at venues for ongoing access)
- Numerous meaningful conversations promoting sexual health awareness and reducing stigma
- Positive feedback from partners, including invitations to attend future wellbeing events
Locations visited:
- NPTC Newtown College
- Tesco Supermarket, Ystradgynlais
- Brecon Library
- Tesco Supermarket, Welshpool
- Tesco Supermarket, Llandrindod Wells
This work supports Wales's national ambition of zero new HIV transmissions by 2030.
Free "test and post" kits remain available—simple, discreet, and supported. Just like visiting the dentist or optician, taking care of your sexual health is an important part of staying well.
