Apply to vote by post
Some people find voting by post easier than going to the Polling Station. You can register to vote by post for a specific election or for all elections.
If you've chosen to vote by post, your ballot paper will be sent to you 1-2 weeks before polling day.
- You will need to mark your ballot paper in the normal way.
- You must also complete a Postal Voting Statement. Without this, your vote is invalid.
- You must return the postal vote before the close of poll, either by returning it to the Returning Officer or by handing it in at a polling station.
Postal voting application forms must reach the Elections Office by 5 p.m. 11 working days before Polling Day.
**Should you no longer need to vote by post please contact the office advising us of your full name, address and date of birth so we are able to confirm your identity.
Download and complete the postal vote application form and return it to us at the address given on the form.
