Trauma Informed Practice

Course Aims:

To support understanding why trauma can cause substance misuse, mental health problems affecting all aspects of life.  

Course Outcomes:

• Trauma and addiction as often linked to each other.
• Addiction frequently occurs as a result of trauma and related mental health disorders associated with trauma.
• Trauma-Informed Care in Substance Misuse Treatment.
• Trauma and substance abuse are co-occurring disorders, To include how mental health may be affected.
