Notice of Election, Senedd Election, Brycheiniog Tawe Nedd Constituency
- An election is to be held for Members to serve in the Senedd for the Brycheiniog Tawe Nedd constituency.
- Nomination papers can be obtained from the office of the Constituency Returning Officer, County Hall, Llandrindod Wells, LD1 5LG or electronically via electoral.services@powys.gov.uk.
- Nomination Papers must be delivered by prior appointment to the Constituency Returning Officer at County Hall, Llandrindod Wells, LD1 5LG between the hours of 9am and 4pm on any working day from the date of publication of this notice but not later than 4pm on 9 April 2026 or electronically as per the arrangements set out in the electronic delivery statement below but not later than 4pm on 9 April 2026.
- The deposit of £500 per individual candidate or the deposit of £500 for the first candidate on a party list, and £200 for each of the next five candidates on the party list, can be paid either in cash, bankers draft (banks operating in the United Kingdom only) or by direct bank transfer.
- If the election is contested, the poll will take place on Thursday 7 May 2026.
- Applications to be added to the Register of Electors in order to vote at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer (as shown below) by 20 April 2026. Applications can be made online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.
- Applications, amendments, or cancellations of postal votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer (as shown below) by 5pm on 21 April 2026.
- Applications to appoint a proxy must reach the Electoral Registration Officer (as shown below) by 5pm on 28 April 2026.
Applications to vote by emergency proxy at this election on the grounds of physical incapacity or for work / service reasons must reach the Electoral Registration Officer (as shown below) by 5pm on Thursday 7 May 2026. The physical incapacity must have occurred after 5pm on 28 April 2026. To apply on the grounds of work / service, the person must have become aware that they cannot go to the polling station in person after 5pm on 28 April 2026. - Nomination papers submitted electronically must be delivered in accordance with the arrangements set out in this statement.

- Your nomination paper must be submitted as an attachment, PDF or Word document.
- Avoid sending multiple attachments in an e-mail, and instead provide all nomination papers in one entire document, in order to minimise file sizes;
- Submit all nomination papers in one single e-mail to ensure that all elements are received by the Returning Officer.
Electronic signatures may now be used as an alternative to wet ink signatures when submitting nomination papers electronically (e.g. candidate signatures and witness signature)
- Please note: It is the responsibility of Nomination Officer for a party or individual candidates as appropriate to ensure that the Constituency Returning Officer receives nomination forms in the correct way by the required deadlines. (nomination papers sent to any other Council e-mail addresses may not be considered valid)
- An electronic read receipt from the Constituency Returning Officer is not confirmation that the nomination is valid. The Constituency Returning Officer will send a notice of their decision as to whether or not a nomination is valid.
