What do Care Services Cost?

Powys County Council reviews its level of charges periodically and the following maximum charge for services is shown below.

 

2025-2026

Level of Charges

  • Home care (domiciliary care): £25.00 per hour
  • Learning Disability services in the community: £20.00 per hour
     

Direct Payment scheme

(These are guide rates. Please note all Personal Assistants and Care Workers will be paid the Real Living Wage from 2022/23.):

  • £15.83 per hour PA rate
  • £17.26 per hour Micro enterprise
  • £27.02 per Hour Domiciliary Care Agency Rate

Attendance at a day centre: £20.00 per day

Attendance at day and employment services: £20.00 per day

Transport to a day centre: No charge

24 hour support (supported tenancy): £100 per week

Short term respite in a care home: £100 per week per single episode of care

Shared lives scheme: £100 per week per single episode of respite care
 

Meals  

 Meals provided by the Powys County Council are charged for separately at the following flat rate:

  • Meals at the day centre: £7.50 per meal

 

2024-2025

Level of Charges

  • Home care (domiciliary care): £25.00 per hour
  • Learning Disability services in the community: £20.00 per hour

  • £14.60 per hour PA rate
  • £17.26 per hour Micro enterprise
  • £21.50 per Hour Domiciliary Care Agency Rate
  • £12.00 per hour sleeping night rate
