Ysgol Bro Hyddgen
The Council is planning to provide a replacement building for Ysgol Bro Hyddgen in Machynlleth, the Council's first all-age school, which was established in 2014 following the merger of Machynlleth C.P. School and Ysgol Bro Ddyfi.

In October 2024, planning permission for the new building was approved. This is a significant milestone, and will enable the Council to move forward with its plans.
This will be the Council's first Passivhaus all-through school building, achieving Net Zero Carbon in Operation.
The next phase of the project will be to complete the design work, before going out to tender for a construction contractor.
The school is also transitioning from a dual stream to a Welsh-medium school, so moving forward with the plans for the new building will support implementation of the Council's Welsh in Education Strategic Plan (WESP).
