Apply for a bus pass
All Powys residents who have reached their 60th birthday will be eligible for an All Wales Concessionary Bus Pass allowing free travel on Welsh bus services. If you have a disability, you can apply for either the All Wales Concessionary Bus Pass or a free Disabled Persons Railcard, which entitles you to a third off your rail fare nationwide.

To get a bus pass, you will need to apply in person by taking the completed form, along with supporting documents, to one of our Customer Service Points. There's a full list of acceptable supporting documents on the application form.
A photograph will be taken at the Customer Service Point, and we'll post your new card to you, generally within 7-10 days. Please note that we can't accept postal applications.
Please note, only some Library+ points can process bus passes.
Your bus pass card is for life - you do not have to renew it unless it has been unless lost, destroyed or stolen.
How do I replace a lost, damaged or stolen bus pass?
If your bus pass is lost, stolen or damaged there is a £5.00 fee to pay before a new bus pass can be issued.
You can apply at your nearest Library+ or alternatively call Customer Services on 01597 826000.
Complete the form and return it, along with supporting documentation, to:

Please do not send any money. The disabled railcard is FREE under the concessionary travel pass scheme
Qualification by Disability
You're eligible if you are registered as:
- blind or partially sighted
- without speech
or if you have a disability, or have suffered an injury, which seriously impairs your ability to walk, means you are without the use of both arms, or if you have an enduring mental health problem.
You also qualify if you receive:-
- Severe Disablement Allowance
- or Attendance Allowance
- or Disability Living Allowance (with higher mobility component)
- or War Pensioners' Mobility Supplement
- or 80% Service Disablement Pension
or if you have lost/do not qualify for a driving licence on medical grounds.
When you apply, please take with you documents that clearly show that you're eligible for qualification by disability and:
- your National Insurance number (e.g. pension advice letter)
- your date of birth (e.g. driving licence, birth certificate or current passport)
- proof of address
If you are eligible to be accompanied by a companion your new pass will allow this arrangement to continue. If you need assistance to use public transport, we can give another concession for a travelling companion. In these cases, there's a space on your registration form for confirmation of your need from Social Services or a health professional.
Returning a card
If a concessionary pass is no longer required please return the pass stating the reason it is no longer required to: Passenger Transport Unit, Powys County Hall, Spa Road East, Llandrindod Wells, Powys, LD1 5LG
