Epilepsy Awareness Training for those who work with adults with learning disabilities
Course Provider: Powys Teaching Health Board Community Learning Disability Nurses
Outcomes:
- Have knowledge of different types of epileptic seizures
- Recognise and describe different types of seizures
- Describe the principles of managing an epileptic seizure
- Describe the impact of epilepsy on lifestyle
- Accurately describe the difference between status epileptics and serial seizures
Please note:
BUCCAL MIDAZOLAM SESSIONS WILL BE PROVIDED IN SET SESSIONS ACROSS THE COUNTY ARRANGED BY THE NURSES
(We will trial nurses contacting the providers to enquire when most staff are due BUCCCAL MIDAZOLAM sessions. It is hoped this will prevent having to train one or two staff throughout the year.)
NB: If staff have previously received Buccal Midazolam Training via TEAMS ONLINE it is an annual training repeat, not every 2 years as with face-to-face training.

There is no charge to attend these courses, however a cancellation charge may apply to non-attendance if sufficient notice is not given
