Brynllywarch Hall School

This project will see the construction of a brand new, purpose-built special school for pupils with behavioural and emotional difficulties at the school's existing site in Kerry, near Newtown.

The new Brynllywarch building will provide brand new, 21st Century learning environments for pupils attending the school, significantly improving the accommodation and learning experience. The new building will include:

  • Specialist support and provision for pupils with challenging behaviour, emotional and social difficulties in a modern and innovative learning environment.
  • Appropriate learning spaces to deliver the new curriculum.
  • Specialist equipment, including IT facilities, to support teaching and learning outcomes which will help to ensure all learners maximise their potential.
  • A fully equipped class base, with breakout space and hygiene facilities, together with an outdoor learning area.

Following a tendering exercise, a contractor has been appointed to construct the new building, and the final business case to secure the funding for the new building will be submitted to Welsh Government in the early part of 2025. Subject to Welsh Government approval of the business case, it is expected that construction of this long awaited development will start in Spring 2025.
