Maldwyn 2024 Urdd Eisteddfod
We're proud that this year's Urdd Eisteddfod will be in Powys and look forward to welcoming visitors from across Wales to the Maes near Meifod from 27 May - 1 June.

This will be the first time since 1988 that the Urdd Eisteddfod has visited the area when it will be held on the fields of Mathrafal Farm by Meifod.
It is estimated that the Urdd Eisteddfod will bring £6 million to the local economy and 90,000 visitors are expected to visit the national festival between 27 May and 1 June 2024.
The council is delighted to be one of the Urdd Eisteddfod's main partners and we're working closely with event organisers to make it an event to remember.

Powys County Council at The Maes
The council will be hosting a marquee at the Eisteddfod and will using our presence as an opportunity to showcase Powys to those attending - through local product tasting, tourism and culture to Welsh language promotion and activities as well as promoting recruitment opportunities at the council.

Urdd Gobaith Cymru
Urdd Gobaith Cymru is a National Voluntary Youth Organisation with over 55,000 members between the ages of 8 - 25 yrs old. Since 1922, it has provided opportunities through the medium of Welsh for children and young people in Wales to enable them to make positive contributions to their communities.
The Urdd hosts an annual Eisteddfod, held during the Whitsun half term, and its location alternates between locations in North and South Wales. The Eisteddfod provides an opportunity to showcase Welsh talent in singing, recitation, drama performance, dance, instrumental competitions, folk singing, as well as competitions in cookery, hairdressing, journalism and much more.
2024 is the turn of Montgomeryshire to host the event. This will be the first time since 1988 that the Urdd Eisteddfod has visited the area and it will be held on the fields of Mathrafal Farm by Meifod.
