The Crosskeys Llanfyllin will be offering a warm space in their Coffee House and Community Hub Space, which is a former pub. There are lots of community activities run during the week including blue sky craft, parent and toddlers, canasta club, table tennis, book clubs etc. There is free Wi-Fi and equipment available for people to use if they do not have their own equipment.
On a Tuesday they have Nosh Da. There is a one pot lunch and all the drinks (a wide range of hot and cold) - They are non-alcoholic - cakes and snacks and the main lunch can be enjoyed on a pay as you feel / able basis. They also operate a pay it forward scheme where anyone can buy a drink / cake / meal for someone else to enjoy.
The Crosskeys currently relies on electric wall mounted oil filled radiators as its main heat source but there is an open fire that is also used in the winter months to increase the warmth and ambience in the building.
They have recently set up a small office space which is being used by PAVO (2 days a week), Pobl half a day and we are in talks with Kaleidoscope to also utilise this space.
They have just registered in partnership with BRACE as a community Fridge.
The bus stop is directly outside our property. It is serviced by Tannat valley buses and runs return bus services to Welshpool, Shrewsbury and Oswestry via smaller villages and smaller settlements.
When they are open as a coffee house there is no expectation of anyone having to buy or make a donation to use the space. Of course, as a CIC any donations anyone / any other organisation would like to make is welcome.
