All investment priorities within Supporting Local Business (see the Mid Wales Regional Investment Plan for further details - Mid Wales Regional Investment Plan)

2)     Multiply

All investment priorities within Multiply (see the  Mid Wales Regional Investment Plan for the UK Shared Prosperity Fund 2022-25 (PDF) [2MB] for further details)

Important Information

  • The timescale for delivery of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) is short; in practice, all projects will need to be completed and final claims submitted by 31 December 2024, to allow time for closure of the programme.  Applicants can include an element of retrospective expenditure within their application from 1 April 2023.
  • Considering the short period available for delivery, the Local Partnership will be seeking to support a relatively small number of larger, strategic projects. All projects submitted must seek at least £50,000 of UKSPF funds and a maximum of £250,000 for 2023-24.  Projects within this call can include expenditure for 2024-25, however, the latest date for project delivery and submission of final claims will be no later than 31/12/2024.  If your budgetary requirement for 2024-25 is likely to exceed £250,000, please discuss your requirements with the Powys Local Delivery Team (ukspf@powys.gov.uk) prior to submitting your application.
  • The Council shall pay the Grant to the successful Project Deliverers quarterly in arrears based on Eligible Expenditure incurred in the delivery of the Project further to receipt of the Claim Form.
  • The maximum grant available for feasibility studies is £50,000, with a minimum of £10,000 for 2023-24.  Feasibility studies should be completed, and final claims submitted by 31 March 2024.
  • The UKSPF includes both capital and revenue funding. Applicants can choose to submit applications for capital only project, revenue only projects or projects seeking a combination of both.
  • Operating in compliance with the new UK subsidy control regime which began on 4 January 2023, will be a key requirement for any project. All applicants should familiarise themselves with the requirements of the regime: https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/subsidy-control-regime
  • Applicants will be required to detail how the proposed activity will align and support other local, regional or national strategies.  Please see page 29 of the Mid Wales Investment Plan for examples.
  • In submitting an application, you will authorise the local authority/authorities to make the necessary enquiries to check any information that is required for the administration of the UKSPF programme.
  • There is a one stage application process.  Applications will be accepted from 15/05/2023 until 23:59 on 11/06/2023.  Completed applications will be appraised by the Powys Local Delivery Team and the Powys Shared Prosperity Fund Local Partnership.
  • Please note depending upon the number of applications received in open call one, this call may open earlier than stated above.  If this happens, the website will be updated accordingly, and a press release issued, as appropriate.
  • Please go to How to Apply to download the application form and guidance.
  • Completed application forms for the Powys Shared Prosperity Fund should be sent by email to ukspf@powys.gov.uk by the deadline.
  • Any queries regarding your application should be directed to the ukspf@powys.gov.uk email.
  • Regional bids will be considered; please contact the team via the ukspf@powys.gov.uk email to discuss requirements.
  • A webinar was held on 16th March, which provided more information regarding the funding programme and the opportunities that apply in each County (Powys & Ceredigion).  A copy of the webinar can be accessed via the link:UK Shared Prosperity Fund - English - Growing Mid Wales
