Is becoming a carer right for me?

Shared Lives is about supporting someone to be as independent as possible and to find their own way in the world.

As part of the assessment process, we will look at your lifestyle, commitments and routine and help to introduce you to someone who is a good fit with you.

"I am a much more rounded person having been a Shared Lives Carer - I see the bigger picture in helping others and valuing their opinions and aims in life.  We live together as part of our day to day lives, learning in the safety of our home and most of all we are interested in their lives and how they are progressing."

"The best thing about what I do is seeing her grow in confidence and ability.  She's a caring person, when she writes me a thank you note or gets me a card and she hands this to me with a big smile on her face.  These are special reminders that she brings a lot of joy to my life"
