Warm Wales Powys Energy Saving Scheme Testimonials

testimonials

I received all new radiators, new pipework, and a new plant with the ASHP and I was given the option of two positions to locate this in the house, now hidden away in a cupboard. I am delighted with the installation as the workmen covered all my carpets and furniture as I was worried about the cleaning, noise and dust. The workers even said to me they would look after this as if this was their own home, and after completion I couldn't stop smiling.

Going greener feels good as I used to pay £44 per month, and now I am obsessed with my phone app because it is saving me money and the amount we are saving is great. You need the complete package of ASHP, solar and batteries to make this work. Yesterday I spent 1p on energy and by 10am the next morning the batteries are fully charged up again, thanks to the solar panels.

You just need to think about what you are doing and when as we all stick to routines. Small tweaks to my routine were not a problem, and the tips from contractors were really useful.

The latest Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) and battery additions to the cottage have been amazing. From the first day I was able to get hot water. Being able to enjoy efficient heating in my home for the first time felt miraculous after such struggles. It has been life changing.

Powys Council were really good. The officer took time to understand the problems I faced, which were a little complicated and unusual. My rented property is quite quirky. I was actually amazed that after she communicated with Warm Wales I was chatting to the representative of the contractors within 2 weeks and I had an appointment to assess booked in.

The best thing about the application was the ease of communication. The assessors were quick to act. They arrived on time took time to measure and discuss my needs in terms of positioning of radiators. They explained the best places to put the new equipment etc. Both assessors were here for just one afternoon. This meant minimal disruption for me.

The pv panels went up in a day. I think the radiators and ASHP took longer but not much.

I signed up for help to export my electricity as during the warmer days my electricity use is tiny. I must admit since getting a smart meter I am constantly checking my import and export. I love reading the meter now. Obviously I will be using plenty of electricity during colder months but I am looking forward to spending a lot less than I did on wood and coming home from work to a comfortable house.

I am finding it a lot easier to keep my house clean and the air quality is better.

I am extremely happy with the upgrades. I would give the scheme 10 out of 10. It's such an exceptional opportunity to provide old homes with comfort.
