Aim
- This course aims to support practitioners in understanding child sexual abuse including indicators and impact. It will ensure staff are managing disclosures effectively and providing trauma informed / non blaming support in recovery.
Key Learning Outcomes
- Give an understanding of what Child Sexual Abuse is and how it can happen
- Indicators of Child Sexual Abuse and assessing risk / safety planning
- Understanding sexual development
- Managing disclosures and barriers to disclosure
- Impact of Child Sexual Abuse: Supporting recovery for the child / non abusing parent
- Anti-discriminatory practice - ensuring a non blaming approach / trauma informed practice.
