Aim

  • This course aims to support practitioners in understanding child sexual abuse including indicators and impact. It will ensure staff are managing disclosures effectively and providing trauma informed / non blaming support in recovery. 

Key Learning Outcomes

  • Give an understanding of what Child Sexual Abuse is and how it can happen
  • Indicators of Child Sexual Abuse and assessing risk / safety planning 
  • Understanding sexual development 
  • Managing disclosures and barriers to disclosure
  • Impact of Child Sexual Abuse: Supporting recovery for the child / non abusing parent 
  • Anti-discriminatory practice - ensuring a non blaming approach / trauma informed practice.

There is no charge to attend these courses, however a cancellation charge may apply to non-attendance if sufficient notice is not given
