Job seekers and those wanting to gain new skills are being offered the chance to apply for six-month, paid work experience opportunities.

Powys County Council has accessed money from the Shared Prosperity Fund (UK Government Levelling Up scheme) to offer a range of placements.

Cllr Jake Berriman, Powys County Council's Cabinet Member with responsibility for HR, said: "We are delighted to be accepting applications for these vacancies which offer a fantastic opportunity to work, learn and gain valuable new skills.

"Whether you enjoy the outdoors, sports and physical activity - or have an interest in social care, data, research, environmental health, or recycling - there is a work experience placement for you."

The roles, which are now open for applications, are:

  • Assistant Volunteer Co-ordinator (Countryside Access)
  • Children's Services Front Door Project Researcher
  • Countryside Access Assistant
  • Data and Resource Co-ordinator (Children's Services)
  • Graduate Environmental Health Officer
  • Sport & Active Community Development Officer
  • Waste Awareness Assistant
