Strategy Discussions and Meetings

Strategy meetings and discussions help Children's Services to build as full a picture as possible of what has happened.

This will take place between a social worker and other agencies. The aim of the meeting is to decide whether to start child protection enquiries. The meeting will also consider whether any immediate steps need to be taken to keep the child safe.

Parents will not be invited to a strategy discussion or meeting. However, any information or decisions agreed at the meeting will be shared with appropriate family members when it is appropriate to do so.
