Don't smoke, don't start vaping.

Although they are considered to be significantly less harmful than smoking tobacco, there is not enough evidence to know what the long-term health effects of vaping might be. Adult smokers can reduce the risk of harm from smoking by switching completely to vaping, however vaping not advised for non-smokers. If you don't smoke, don't start vaping.

Recent research from Public Health Wales shows that 20% of secondary school aged learners have tried vaping. Vaping is not recommended for use by children and young people, or anyone who has never smoked, as vaping is not without harm. In the short term, people may suffer from headaches, sore throats, dizziness, and coughs. Vaping can lead to dependence on nicotine. Dependence on nicotine can negatively affect mental health and wellbeing, and can be disruptive to life and learning.

Additionally, disposable single use vaping devices harm the environment, over 50% of single use vapes in the in UK end up in landfill where they break down and release dangerous chemicals.

It is illegal to sell nicotine containing vaping devices to anyone under-18 or for adults to buy then on behalf of under-18's.
