Ysgol Calon y Dderwen

This project will see the construction of a new primary school building in Newtown.

Ysgol Calon y Dderwen was established in September 2021 following the merger of Ladywell Green Infants School and Hafren Junior School. The school is currently operating from the sites of the two previous schools.

The school will be further extended in September 2025 to include the current site of Treowen C.P. School.

The intention is that all pupils will move to a new building on the current Ysgol Calon y Dderwen site in the future. Work is continuing on plans for the new building.

This project is linked to plans to provide a new health and well-being campus in Newtown as part of the North Powys Well-being Programme.
