Powys County Council has welcomed the news that Ysgol Llanfyllin has been removed from Estyn's list of schools requiring review, following a successful progress evaluation.

Estyn, the education and training inspectorate for Wales, confirmed that the school has made appropriate progress in addressing the key issues identified during its core inspection. The inspectorate also recognised the school's growing capacity to continue driving improvement, meaning no further monitoring activity is required.

The decision follows a recent review conducted in collaboration with Powys County Council and other stakeholders.

Cllr Pete Roberts, Cabinet Member for a Learning Powys, said: "This is excellent news for Ysgol Llanfyllin and a testament to the hard work and commitment of the headteacher, staff, governors, learners, and the wider school community. It also reflects the strong partnership working between the school and the council.

"We look forward to continuing and further strengthening our strong partnership with Ysgol Llanfyllin, ensuring the school continues on its path of improvement and success."
