News that three primary schools have all been removed from Estyn's list of schools requiring review has been welcomed by Powys County Council.

Estyn, the education and training inspectorate for Wales, has confirmed that Churchstoke C.P. School, Llangynidr C.P. School, and Ysgol Bro Cynllaith have all made appropriate progress in addressing the key issues identified during their core inspections, meaning no further monitoring activity is required.

Cllr Pete Roberts, Cabinet Member for a Learning Powys, said: "This is excellent news for the three schools and a testament to the hard work and commitment of their headteachers, staff, governors, learners, and wider communities.

"It also reflects the strong partnership working between the schools and the local authority. We are proud of the progress made and pleased that each school's efforts have been recognised by Estyn."
